Cavenham Heath National Nature Reserve is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and is on Open Access Land managed by Natural England. The site has habitats of heath, grassland, woodland, wetland and areas of fen.

Thurlton Primary School is a small community school with 60 pupils. It is located South East of Norwich and is based in a Victorian building (1875), which was extended and modernised almost 100 years later. The grounds include soft and hard play areas, a car park and an environmental area with a pond and gardens.

This school, along with two local high schools, is a part of the Clarion Academy Trust, which is a multi-academy and primary school Trust in South Norfolk.

Thetford Castle Park is a busy public park in the centre of Thetford. This historically important site is also a nationally significant Scheduled Monument. It contains substantial Iron Age earthworks and a motte and bailey castle constructed following the Norman conquest of 1066. It is the second biggest manmade earthwork in the country behind the Avebury mound in Wiltshire.

Barnham Cross Common is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and is also a Special Protection Area (SPA), designated at a European Level, for its value to Woodlark, Nightjar and Stone Curlew as foraging habitats.

The Big K site in Norfolk houses the operations for testing, storing, preparing and delivering quality winter fuels and charcoal. The site has been developing and undergoing growth and improvements over the years, emphasising sustainability, eco-friendliness and security.
